A seven night Digital Underwater Photography Workshop package at the Matava Eco Resort in Fiji can be organised for interested parties by Scuba Dive Asia. This week of underwater photography is presented by Mathieu Meur who has been involved in underwater photography for nearly twenty years. He was involved with free diving initially but then moved on or progressed to scuba diving. He is busy writing his book called Complete Digital Underwater Photography which, if all goes well, will be published at the end of this year, two thousand and eleven. A week’s workshop in September 2011 involves learning many practical skills at the instruction of Mathieu Meur. This course should therefore be attended by novice and experienced underwater photographers and scuba divers.
People will learn practical skills in the following areas namely, in the art of composition, shooting with ambient light with silhouette and colour filter, one on one image review and critique session with Mathieu, shooting macro techniques and strobe positioning, art of fish photography, shooting with single/ twin strobes, night shooting with lighting and techniques and working with models. Practical hands on classroom workshops will be conducted on processing raw images and using adobe bridge cs5, tonal correction with the level and saturation tool, asset management and workflow. lighting techniques with single strobe and two strobes, the art of seascapes with the wide angle, conversion to black and white techniques, how to select images for competition and the preparation of images for portfolio and entry into uf11 competition.
The Matava Eco Resort is an ideal setting for scuba diving vacations where people can enjoy their Fiji vacations at this resort which is found on the remote island of Kadavu. Kadavu island is Fiji’s fourth largest island and is positioned one hundred kilometres south of Viti Levu, which is Fiji’s main island. Kadavu island is one of the last remaining undeveloped islands in Fiji. The island is divided into two parts by the Namalata Isthmus, which split Namalata Bay on the northern coast from the Galoa Harbour on the southern coast. The tallest mountain is Mount Nabukelevu which is eight hundred and twenty two metres high.
